Bring fractions to life outdoors with fun, active lessons that get children moving while mastering key skills. From multiplying and converting fractions to finding fractions of amounts, ordering, comparing, and exploring equivalence, these hands-on activities make fractions practical, engaging, and memorable.
During this active outdoor lesson, your children will compare and order fractions using different representations. This is a low preparation lesson that will also provide your children with the chance to work out the missing terms in sequences of fractions and justify their answers.

The main activity of this active lesson involves your children going on a trail hunt around your outdoor space to find equivalent fractions. They will also have the opportunity to develop their understanding of linear sequences and revisit ordering a set of fractions.
