The main activity of this outdoor lesson requires children to use mud and natural items in their artwork. Children will draw inspiration from the famous Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, to create colourful artwork inspired by nature, exploring symbolism in their work.

Creating a piece of visual art

LO: To create a piece of visual art in the style of Frida Kahlo.

During this outdoor lesson, children will draw upon inspiration from Frida’s work and their own outdoor space to create a piece of 3D art in her iconic style, their finished design incorporating multiple mediums. A fun, creative and engaging outdoor lesson with minimal preparation!
